Edward SchwartzbergEdward Schwartzberg, O.D. is the founder and president of Doctors On Sight Optometrists®. He is a graduate of Dalhousie University, Halifax, Canada, where he received a BS in Chemistry. He completed his Doctor of Optometry degree at the New England College of Optometry in 1969. He continued his post graduate education as a clinician in pediatric optometry as well as geriatrics at the Optometric Center of New York, SUNY, until 1972. Before starting the practice in Waldorf in 1974, he was the chief eye clinician at a drug rehabilitation facility in New York City. During the initial phase of his career in Maryland, Dr. Schwartzberg also served as the clinician at the Eye Clinic for the Charles County Department of Health. During his professional career he has received many awards and much recognition including his former position as Chairman of the Board, Mid Atlantic Vision Service Plan. Dr. Schwartzberg is married to Deanna Schwartzberg, a well known abstract painter and teacher. They have two grown children and several grandchildren. Dr. Schwartzberg enjoys boating, physical fitness, traveling, and going to concerts, galleries and museums with his wife.


Howard CohenHoward Cohen, O.D. is chief of clinical care at Doctors On Sight®. He has been associated with Doctors on Sight® for almost three decades. He received his BS Degree from the University of Maryland, College Park in 1975, participated in a Masters Program in Biology at Northeastern University in 1976, and received his Doctor of Optometry from New England College of Optometry in 1980 with Salutatorian status. Dr. Cohen has won numerous academic and professional awards and honors. He is also a former president of the Central Maryland Optometric Association. Dr. Cohen sees patients mainly in our Waldorf, MD office. With his extensive clinical background and professional expertise he practices general optometry with an emphasis on pediatric vision care, low vision, and geriatric vision care issues. He and his wife, Diane, have two grown children. His hobbies include an avid interest in American History, playing golf, and rooting for the Baltimore Ravens.


George DemasGeorge Demas, O.D. has been associated with Doctors On Sight® for almost two decades. In 1985 he received his BS degree at the University of Maryland and in 1989 graduated with his Doctor of Optometry degree from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis. Dr. Demas is a highly experienced clinician who practices general optometry but has a special interest in refractive laser surgery and complicated contact lens problem solving. He practices in our Southern Maryland offices. Dr. Demas lives near the Chesapeake Bay in Southern Anne Arundel County with his wife, Suzanne, and their two teenage sons. He is a sailing and boating enthusiast.


Mark LebarMark Lebar, O.D. attended the University of Maryland in College Park and graduated in 1976 from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago. Dr. Lebar has an outstanding clinical background with special interests in contact lenses, sports vision, and ocular disease. In addition he is an acknowledged expert in lens design and vision issues related to firearms/hunting and archery. He practices in our Southern Maryland offices and resides with his wife, Sarah, near Prince Frederick, MD. They have two grown children. His hobbies and interests include running in local charity races, raising dogs, and enjoying and cooking gourmet food.


Carmoly SandersCarmoly Sanders, O.D. hails from Louisiana where she graduated with a BS degree from Xavier University in 1995. She received her optometric education and Doctor of Optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1999. She practices general optometry in our Prince Georges County and Southern Maryland offices and has a special interest in geriatric vision problems. Along with her husband Al, president of a marketing company, she resides in Upper Marlboro and enjoys travel, cooking and good books.


Christopher KolliasChristopher Kollias, O.D. has the outstanding distinction of achieving academic Cum Laude status during his pre-professional training at The Ohio State University, BS, 2000, and then again while obtaining his Doctor of Optometry degree from The Ohio State University College of Optometry in 2005. In addition he is a Phi Beta Kappa and Beta Sigma Kappa academic honor society member. Dr. Kollias practices in our Bowie and Waldorf offices and his special interests include contact lenses and laser vision correction. He and his wife Jodi, who is also an optometrist, and their two young children live in the Bowie area. His special hobbies and interests include jogging, fitness, and, of course, following the Buckeye Football team.


Vincent BertomeuVincent Bertomeu, O.D. is originally from Wilmington, DE. He is a 1995 graduate of Cornell University and received his professional training at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, where he graduated with honors as a member of Beta Sigma Kappa in 2001. Dr. Bertomeu is the recipient of numerous academic awards including the Alcon Excellence Award and the RGP Lens Institute Award. Although a general optometrist, he has a special interest in complicated and unique contact lens design, sports vision, and laser refractive surgery. Dr. Bertomeu practices in our Virginia Offices and lives in Vienna, VA, with his wife, Rosa, who is also an optometrist. His hobbies and interests include boating, physical fitness, travel, and enjoying his new role as a father of twins.


Ryan DoranRyan Doran, O.D. is the newest associate of Doctors On Sight. Originally from Princeton, NJ, Dr. Doran received his Bachelor of Science degree from The George Washington University in Washington, DC, and his doctor of optometry degree from The New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA where he was the recipient of numerous clinical honors. He continued with his post graduate education and completed a residency which focused on the diagnosis and treatment of ocular diseases at OMNI Eye Services, a multidisciplinary surgical center in the metro New York City/New Jersey area. Dr. Doran is a primary care optometrist with extensive training in ocular disease, geriatric vision disorders as well as a special interest in sports and related vision issues in athletes.

Outside of the office, Dr. Doran is not just an avid sports enthusiast, but a proactive volunteer for the Special Olympics and Big Brothers and Sisters. In addition, he enjoys recreational ice hockey, golf and racquetball. He is part of our Montgomery Co and Fairfax County team of doctors, and is usually available for appointments in our Germantown office.


Katelin Zaluski

Katelin Zaluski, O.D. is a Pittsburgh native and is one of the more recent doctors to join our practice.  She will be examining patients in our Southern Maryland offices.  Dr. Zaluski received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Kenyon College and her Doctor of Optometry degree from Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University where she graduated with honors.   An outstanding general optometrist, her area of interest and concern is sports vision with emphasis on the interaction needed for athletes to improve visual performance, timing and coordination in skill sports.   Her favorite pastimes include watching her beloved Pittsburgh Steelers, horseback riding and hiking with lots of time bird watching.


Diana PanDiana Pan, O.D.  is one of the newer associates to join our practice.  She practices mainly in our Germantown, MD and Northern Virginia offices.  Born in China and raised in Texas, Dr. Pan is a graduate of North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology.  She has the distinction of graduating Magna Cum Laude.   Her graduate education continued on at Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University where she received her Doctor of Optometry degree with clinical honors.   Dr. Pan is fluent in several languages including Mandarin Chinese.   She is a general optometrist but has special clinical interests in pediatrics with emphasis on improving those developmental vision anomalies that result in learning disabilities and lesser reading skills.   An avid baker and world traveler, Dr. Pan’s special interests include the arts, reading great novels and sports.


Dr. David Holland, O.D. is one of the newer associates to join Doctors On Sight®.  He is a Maryland native from Ellicott City who received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Maryland in College Park and his Doctor of Optometry degree from Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University.  He has received numerous honors and awards in clinical and academic excellence.  His areas of concern are ocular diseases and primary care.  Dr. Holland lives in Waldorf and enjoys a variety of sports and outdoor activities.
