History

Dr. Edward SchwartzbergDr. Edward Schwartzberg started the practice in Waldorf, MD, in February, 1974. The original office was located on Route 5. In 1979, Dr. Schwartzberg moved the practice to its present, much larger location, on Route 301 (2955 Crain Highway). Over the years as the practice continued to grow, it has expanded into its much larger quarters. Waldorf is our main office with two, full time doctors and serves as a training facility for all of our other locations. In addition it houses our lens fabrication and surfacing laboratory, all of our major diagnostic and therapeutic equipment, our medical billing department, our accounting department, classrooms, and our extensive international frame inventory. The office was designed by award winning and nationally recognized architect, Mark McInturff.

Dr. Schwartzberg makes customer service and patient satisfaction his highest priorities. His philosophy of utilizing advanced instrumentation, an outstanding team of associate doctors, modern optical laboratories, a huge selection of fashion eyewear and highly skilled technicians to provide exemplary customer service is our cornerstone for future growth and expansion. We now have eight additional offices located in California, Prince Frederick, Marlow Heights, Bowie, Germantown and Clinton Maryland and Tysons Corner and Fredericksburg, Virginia. These offices bring the same great vision care, customer service and huge frame collections that are the reasons we have grown into one of the largest and most successful independent optometric practices in the Eastern United States.

We now have one of the latest advanced laser diagnostic tests to monitor for the earliest stages of glaucoma.

Our buyers are always updating and expanding our collection of exotic cutting edge frame styles from around the world.
